We believe that addiction is a treatable disease that can effectively be controlled and managed for life-time sobriety, and we know that the largest single deterrent to treatment is cost. Our commitment is to provide quality treatment to those in need at the lowest possible cost.
We are committed to providing the client what he or she will need to begin a new life, free from chemical dependency. This process can be lengthy, but it need not be prohibitively expensive. We make every effort to involve the client in his or her own treatment so that he or she comes to understand that they can succeed. The process for success must be looked at in a long-term view.
ARA was founded on the model of the original 12-step tradition, and while we acknowledge our debt to that process and encourage our clients to engage in it, our treatment programs contain much more: We believe that persons entering recovery must examine what they have come to believe and why they have continued to relapse. We spend a great deal of time linking values and beliefs to the behaviors that cause the problems, and we spend time learning how to communicate and express both thoughts and emotions in healthy and meaningful ways so that we can start to unwind the pain, frustration, anger, and resentments that invariably push us back toward using.
Toward this end, we offer three programs, an Intensive Residential Program (IRTP), a Long-Term Half-Way Program and a Quarter-Way/Out-Patient Program, each of which offer a different level of care. Our IRTP is what one might think of as primary residential treatment, except that a resident stays anywhere from three weeks to three months, depending on the resident’s needs. Our Half-Way Program is designed to help integrate the resident back into the outside world’s pressures while still in a safe, drug and alcohol-free environment and typically lasts between six months and a year. Our Quarter-way Program is a comprehensive continued care program that gives those who have successfully integrated a chance to continue learning about their disease. At the top of this page are links for more information about each of our programs.
