Mission Statement It is our mission in the Intensive Residential Treatment Program (IRTP) to increase abstinence from mood-altering chemicals in adults. We exist to meet the needs of those with limited resources who suffer from chemical dependency. We also provide primary residential care in South Eastern Idaho for people involved in the correctional system. |
Philosophy We believe chemical dependency is a primary illness. We also believe personal acceptance of addiction and taking responsibility for recovery are key in long-term abstinence. It is important for each recovering addict to develop an understanding and insight into his or her addiction and make behavioral changes. Our philosophy is that these attitudes and behavioral changes can be facilitated through involvement in group therapy, life skills training, individual counseling, psycho-education and family counseling. In addition, it is a priority of this program’s philosophy to engage identified family members in the treatment process. This is accomplished through a family education program and connecting those individuals with community self-help programs such as Al-Anon. |
